Paul Dold has been caving for nearly 25 years and enjoys all aspects of the underground environment.
A long serving member of the Scout association Paul co-founded the West Sussex Cave Club in 2008 combining the Scout caving team and allowing for members to cave as part of the British Caving Association.
Paul has been instrumental in encouraging people of all ages to take part and experience caving always volunteering his time to Scouting, Adult education or just people who would like to take up the challenge.
To back up his experience Paul has gained BCA qualifications and is currently trained up to the Cave Instructor Certificate this allows him to train and assess new leaders within Scouting.
Paul got the bug for photography in 2002 following the birth of his daughter and starting using a Sony Cyber-shot to capture the unfolding events. He then took the camera underground to document some of his caving trips so he could show Scouts some of the places he was visiting and the fun that could be had, from this point on and with some good advice and encouragement from his close friend Dr. Paul (Footleg) Fretwell Paul progressed to a DSLR and then the fun really started.
Paul has also been a member of the Steyning Camera Club for the past 3 year’s this has broadened his scope for photography and enabled him to learn form others in all types of photography.
Paul has worked on a number of assignments, photographing for caving publications/ weddings/ portrait and website illustrations gaining accreditations and winning awards for his photography.
